Fics like a distant yesterday

Iroh had been worried that the gentle tea server from Ba Sing Se wouldn’t survive the Fire Palace. But he can see traces of him in this young prince, this almost-Fire Lord. Ozai didn’t crush Zuko the way he had intended. He survived. He grew strong, and gentle, and more honourable than Ozai could ever imagine. And Iroh is so proud of him. Follows Iroh’s thoughts on his nephew in Book 2 and Book 3 and beyond.
