Fics like You In My Hometown

Geno rides in the cramped back seat with his bag beside him and his knees pressed tight against the seatback in front of him. It’s like being on the plane all over again. His mother is twisted around in her seat to look back at him, eyes still a little red from her tears but her face absolutely lit up as she talks about their plans for the week, all the things they’ll do and the food they’ll make. Geno’s father occasionally will chime in, but it’s mostly Natalia who is running the show and Geno’s head is spinning. Their weekly chats are never this intense and this is the most Russian he’s heard in ages.
