Fics like Spring: Wake

The bell on his door rings like the clear peal of a promise. It announces the entry of two figures: one tall, one small. Their arrival is narrated by the sky: heavy rain and the deep comforting rumble of thunder demanding that Jungkook pay attention, because this is important. A parent, and a child, one the spitting image of the other. What an image the other is. He looks like he’s stumbled out of a renaissance painting, like he belongs in a museum behind glass for safekeeping. Behind glass, but not made of glass- tall, built, the kind of confidence in his posture that only comes with years of practice. His waist slopes like the curve of a smile; his smile stings like electricity in the air from today’s storm. His hair falls in almost-curls onto his forehead, sticking from the rain outside- a reminder that the sky doesn’t want to be forgotten. He’s beautiful.
