Fics like You can't fool Mama

Lucia di Genova and Mariam Al-Kaysani are very good friends. They meet up every Wednesday morning to not-gossip over tea and excellent pastries, and their favourite subject is, of course, their sons. As time passes and it becomes painfully clear that Yusuf and Nicolò are in love with one another, and then dating one another, Lucia and Mariam wait patiently for their boys to come to them and announce their relationship. Except, Yusuf and Nicolò never do. Instead, Lucia and Mariam are forced to watch from the sidelines as Yusuf and Nicolò continue to pretend to be 'just friends', even though they have been together for over ten years and have been living together for just as long. Basically, just a lot of wholesomeness and families (but mothers especially) being very supportive.
