Fics like small things are spectacular sights

“Oh, right!” says the girl, sweeping the last of the roses out of the box. Unlike the others, this one has a fluttering message dangling from its stem, a red ribbon curling around it, the petals so pristine that Pang feels like they would float away if he were just to touch it. Pang watches closely as she passes past Punn, past the front row, and walks straight to Pom, placing it on his table. He blinks. Pang turns to Ohm and Namtaan, who look as lost as he is, eyebrows drawn together. “Someone left this for you, Khu Pom.” It’s then that Pang notices something he’s never seen on Pom before. For a moment, as everyone else is whispering, he holds the rose in his hands, his mouth pulling up into a soft smile as he mouths the words on the message to himself. It’s a strangely intimate moment, one that Pang feels he shouldn’t witness, when a light pink dusts his cheeks and he moves the rose close to his heart. The moment, however, is broken when Ohm raises his hand and says, “Khu, who left you the rose?” Or: 5 times the Gifted gang heard of Chanon in some way, by name or not, and 1 time they met him.
