Fics like Whatever Happens Tomorrow

Ten years. Two people. One day. Sometimes you can live life without realising everything you’ve ever wanted is right in front of you. This is the story of Elsa and Maren over the ten most important years of their lives, on the same day each year. It’s not who you grow up with that’s important; it’s who you grow old with. Maren had seen her around before – with a face like that, it was hard not to see her – but, as fate would have it, she never had the chance to introduce herself. That was, until the night before graduation, when an elbow to the face, a bleeding nose and a shared promise would influence the rest of their lives. “Whatever happens tomorrow, we had today; and I'll always remember it.” – David Nicholls, One Day.
