Fics like To Curtail a Catastrophe

“Just in case you do belong to someone who misses you. But maybe you’re just magically a really clean stray cat so you can stay with me and be all mine, mine, mine,” Zhao Yunlan explained, as if the cat could understand him. He just felt he had to say something, like he didn’t want the cat to misunderstand and think Zhao Yunlan didn’t want him. Which was ridiculous, because this was a cat. How could a cat misunderstand anything? The ability to shapeshift into a cat didn’t often come into play in Shen Wei’s role as Heipaoshi protecting everyday citizens against powered Dixingren. However, discovering that the new S.I.D. chief was gaining the trust of Dixingren allies against all odds, Shen Wei decides to use this ability to indulge his curiosity with a harmless bit of reconnaissance. Unexpectedly, this spur of the moment decision leads to him stalking a surprisingly familiar man, one he’d never thought he’d see again. Irresistibly drawn to this beloved figure, Shen Wei finds himself on light paws and in dark fur day after day, watching unseen from within the shadows... Or so he thinks.
