Fics like Sorry, I'm too busy thinking about Jonathan Carnahan.

Ardeth has a slight problem; Jonathan Carnahan frequently occupies his thoughts, much to the dismay of the people around him, but he's SURE what he's feeling for the Egyptologist is simply friendship, admiration, and the kind of bond one can only get after facing monsters and saving the world. Through interlopers' attempts to disband the Medjai, stopping potentially dangerous artefacts from leaving Egpyt, and self-entitled tourists Ardeth must work hard and be the leader his people need and deserve, but how can he do his best when all he can think about is Jonathan? His heartsick wondering all leads to Ardeth telling Rick O'Connell "I'm sorry, my dear friend, I cannot attend your wedding. You see, I'm too busy thinking about Johnathan Carnahan" (which goes down about as well you can imagine)
