Fics like every day is a step closer to forever

It's his birthday weekend and she promised she'd visit him in Syracuse. She doesn’t let him down, she never would, so late on Friday evening, a knock on his (thankfully) single dorm room door signals the arrival of her. He practically runs to the door, beanie long forgotten, wearing that button-up shirt with suspenders he knows she just loves. "Hey," he grins as he swings open the door. – (Or, one weekend, a party, and a lot of making up for lost time.)
