Fics like Trial by Water

Plato is a young Tom with something to prove, eager to show his elders that he's more than capable of holding his own amongst the adults of the Tribe. When a decision he makes puts not only his own life in grave danger, but also the life of the one he idolizes most, how will everyone handle the aftermath? (edited, still the same story, but all my glaring mistakes are now fixed, I think)
