Fics like In the Water

He woke up in the woods with a head injury, a watch that could revive the dead, and a name that wasn't his. Did he mention the corpse in the water? Yeah. There was a corpse in the water. Cut forward a few hours and he's promised to help a girl find her murderer in a small town where almost everyone can use magic, curses are something people have to navigate on a daily basis, and a good portion of population has been turned into crows. Well, at least she's promised to help him track down the person that belongs to the name he remembers. Too bad that person is also the sorcerer responsible for turning people into crows and has an army of red-eyed simulacra at his beck and call. Constructive criticism appreciated.
