Fics like breathe easy (you remain my light)

It starts with a sore throat, puttering around at home because he managed to convince Mama to let him stay home, just for a day, because he’s not feeling well. It gets worse with a near-constant ache in his chest from coughing, when the flower petals start a few at a time, then more and more, until they’re a steady stream, and Izumi has to wonder how many more he has in him before he just gives up on trying to get rid of them. And when Leo doesn’t come back, when it’s just him left all alone with three brats he doesn’t trust, it feels like the flowers never stop. (Or: Izumi learns to talk about his feelings in the most self-destructive way possible; Hanahaki with a twist AU)
