Fics like a study in buttercups

“Why,” he started and then changed his mind. It was stupid. Geralt turned to look at him only to find Jaskier already looking back. “How do you keep finding them?” Jaskier frowned. “Finding what?” “Those flowers. Yellow ones.” “Ah,” Jaskier smiled, laughing a bit. “Well, those flowers are buttercups. And how do I find them?” He shrugged. “I think it’s a gift. Oh yes. My natural talent even. I find buttercups everywhere I go.” “I thought your natural talent was pissing everybody off and getting in trouble.” “Oh shut up.” Geralt chuckled. They fell silent. The only thing Geralt could hear was the chirping of crickets in the grass. It wasn’t exactly what he had meant to ask. “Why do you always put them in your hair?” Jaskier shrugged again. “Why not? I love buttercups,” he said simply as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Oh. Jaskier. Of course. Geralt should have known.
