Fics like Shine On

It pained him to think of his mother at times. Not that Dan didn’t love her. He loved her more than he thought possible. But as the years went on he had begun to forget what her face looked like. Her true face. The death flies covered every inch of her in his memory. He longed to see her again, one more time, without them. (A fix it of sorts, an attempt to merge the book and movie ending)
