Fics like Love Is a Battlefield

It’s 1984. You're a broke student living alone in L.A., plagued by problematic relationships with a false friend and a disturbed ex. You meet Xavier Plympton, an aerobics instructor with a dark past, at the gym where you’ve taken a reception job. You quickly develop feelings for him, and you learn (to your relief) that he likes you, too. Soon, a deadly series of events befalls you and the people in your life. You are overwhelmed by tragedy, and with your blossoming romance cut short, you are left a wreck. Six years later, you discover that while Xavier is dead, he hasn’t entirely departed. You soon realise that if you are to be with him and finally achieve true peace and happiness, you must take your own life and become a Camp Redwood ghost.
