Fics like Time and Again

Taking on added responsibilities to help the Hokage, Shikamaru Nara overworks himself and forgets to take his heat suppressants. The realization strikes him just as Naruto Uzumaki is returning from a mission. [This is a stand-alone story. It can be read on its own without the rest of the series. Now with sequel!]
