Fics like This Mangled Grove (Of What I Know)

Yggdrasil is wilder than people care to remember. When El loses his memory in a bad fight, he follows the sorrowful voice of a Tree that speaks through the strange burning mark on his hand, urging him to hurry. She wants to let him rest, he can tell. She wants to let him relearn these strangers that seem eager to stick by his side. But there simply isn't time to rebuild the trust and companionship he seems to have lost along with his memories, and he will reach her sooner if he moves alone. It's too bad that his old friends, strangers though they may be, don't quite agree with this plan.
