Fics like Dancing On Moonbeams

He had learned that the moon was beautiful. The way it waxed and waned, every night different, every moonbeam that shone down painted a new story across the earth. It’s silver light so close yet so far. He had learned to miss the moon when it turned and disappeared from his sight; leaving the sky dark and cold. No Laughter to tickle the stars or add to their shining glory. How he missed the moon on those nights. So when his moon returned, broke, shattered, and littered with craters. Weak and barely able to lift his head. He knew what it meant to want to reach out and touch him, to hide him away safe and sound. He learned what it meant that night, to want to pluck the moon from the sky
