Fics like Getting to Know You

In the first months of the operation, as he was still getting to know his team, Colonel Hogan sometimes underestimated his men. By showing a little faith in all of them, he helped them trust one another and form an exceptional unit. Newkirk's stutter started as an obstacle, but in time he showed Hogan-and himself- that it didn't have to be. With Hogan showing them the way, the men also learned to understand and trust one another. Note: Old chapters 19 and 20 have been removed. They may turn up somewhere else, but I finally realized they were driving this story in a direction that wasn't correct or consistent. This story is supposed to be about Newkirk and Hogan's growing mutual respect and understanding, not how Newkirk struggles with Olsen or any other character in my headcanon. I liked both of those chapters, but I just couldn't find a way out of THIS story as long as they were there, so I removed them and reworked parts of chapter 16 and chapter 18. This was previously posted only on Fanfiction.net.
