Fics like To Tell An Age Old Story

Richard Grimes, the Earl of Kent, is having trouble finding a spouse. After being wounded at the Battle of Waterloo, no man or woman of society will marry a man with so many physical and emotional scars. Daryl Dixon lives with his father and brother on the Earl’s property, trying to keep them all fed and his brother from succumbing to the demons that haunt him from fighting in France. After Rick is rejected again, and Daryl’s father misses the rent one too many times, Rick asks for Daryl’s hand in marriage in exchange for his father’s debt. Or: Beauty and the Beast, Rickyl style
