Fics like constant as the northern star

Catra is there when the new She-Ra is annointed, when she hears that battle cry again, when the stranger in front of her turns into the ghost of a memory. The new She-Ra doesn’t look like Adora, and maybe that’s disappointing, but maybe it’s easier. When she turns, she is taller, mightier—but an imitation of someone Catra knew, loved, lost all the same. Gold traded for silver hair that glistens like opal against the light of the Sword of Protection’s runestone. She-Ra eyes Catra, blue and just as bright as she remembers, as if she’s sought her out amongst the crowd of strangers. As much as she wants to, Catra cannot look away. - She-Ra, a study in reincarnation: birth, death, and rebirth. Or: it’s a hard job loving a hero, but someone’s got to do it.
