Fics like Legion

He proffers the whisky again and this time Childs doesn’t refuse. He shrugs, accepts a glass, and sinks down on the bed, his foreshortened fingers clamped around the tumbler. “You gonna tell me what you dreamed about?” “You really want to know?” Childs shrugs. There’s a flatness about his eyes, a tension to his shoulders. A tendon in his neck stands out, like he’s bracing himself for what’s coming. MacReady swallows. Relishes the burn. “You were one of them,” he says, and Childs doesn’t look up. Just nods as if he’d known. Of course he’d known. Why else would MacReady fight him? What else would MacReady be having nightmares about?
