Fics like a place to land

"There is nobody else in his life like him. How does he put words around it? How do you map words and speech and language onto this body, this body that David carries with him, that he has shaped, that he has listened to, that he fights with, that he makes up with, this body that is like a partner he has to decided to march through life with, that he still gets spitting mad at sometimes, that he wants so desperately, at the end of it all, to love. What it comes down to is this: he wants to know every piece of Matteo. He wants to know every sound he can produce, every expression, the shades of every smile and laugh and kiss. And he wants Matteo to know him." (Or, David works up the courage to come out to Matteo. In the mean time, they fall in love.)
