Fics like Luminescence.

The first time Derek ever lays his eyes upon an actual Siren, he's five years old. She's beautiful and terrifying, as powerful as the stories have made her out to be and his mother tells him that if he ever meets one again, he should never trust them. But when he returns to the planet of Pandora to get revenge on the bandit warlord who executed his parents and sister, he ends up joining forces with Stiles, a young Siren who knows exactly what it feels like to lose your family. It starts out as a relationship of convenience and mutual distrust. It doesn't stay that way for long. (or, that Borderlands fusion where Stiles is a Siren and Derek is kind of a Soldier/Hunter, and they join together for revenge and end up with something far more complicated)
