Carlos was well aware that all of Night Vale understood that, he was, first and foremost, a scientist. But he really was trying to be an equally good boyfriend. He knew he sometime forgot their dates, or rushed off to do science at a moment’s notice and he was trying to step it up. What better way to win boyfriend points than surprising him before dinner by coming over early with a copy of Cat Ballou? And if dinner and a movie maybe finally lead to a little more than kissing after six months of Cecil suddenly running off whenever they get a little carried away kissing--well Carlos would be absolutely fine with that. He just wanted to surprise his boyfriend. It's just...Cecil isn't the only one in for a surprise.
