Fics like I Will Always Return

After finding out the truth about his father and quitting the Phoenix Foundation, Mac feels lost, more than ever in his life. Without telling anyone, he re-enlists, hoping joining the Army and going away will help him to move on and put the past along with his father behind him. Even if it meant breaking his heart in the process and leaving behind the one person he loved and trusted more than anything. (AU after season two finale)
