Most everyone also has a soulmate, their daemons imprinted onto each other's wrists in beautiful detail. Miles has one on each wrist, but only one of them has settled, leaving Miles lost to their identity. Garak has one and resents that he has that many. And Julian wears cuffs around his wrists and never touches the hummingbird on his shoulder. Eventually, all three of these things start to change.
