Fics like Big Brother Instinct

Young Isaac Foster, or Zack as he prefers to be called, has spent his first eleven years on this earth caring for no one but himself. In an orphanage operated illegally and run only for money every day is a fight for survival. He can't afford to care about any of the other kids that pass through the door. The ones who don't disappear end up dying and Zack ends up burying them in the yard. Getting attached would be stupid. That is the mentality he lives with until a four year old girl with blonde hair and dead blue eyes is dropped off at the orphanage. He ignores her at first but her odd behavior and stubbornness continues to grow on him until eventually, he comes to deeply and genuinely care about her. For the first time in his young life, he has the desire to protect someone other than himself.
