Fics like Seven Times 'Round

Bella Baggins knows better than to think Thorin actually just initiated an ancient hobbit courting ritual. He has no possible way to know what he's just done, and the middle of an important quest is not the time for her to be silly about it. Thorin knows better than to think Bella actually meant to initiate a dwarven courting ritual. She's a hobbit, not a dwarf, and it would be dishonorable to act as though things were otherwise. Especially when she'd so recently turned him down. (Bella and Thorin are both quite aware that the other has different customs, and they do their best to respect them while recognizing that their own peoples courting rituals are unknown to the other. This causes exactly as many problems as you might think.)
