After the events of Checkmate, Jerott is waiting for the mysteriously delayed Danny Hislop to finally make his way to Scotland so they can go to Malta together (because this is Jerott and he thinks running away to Malta is the only way to deal with his problems). While waiting, he has plenty of time to consider the nature of love and to realise a few things about Francis Crawford. For light relief, there's a curling match. Thank you to the people who posted encouragement on my Sunday Seven extract from this many months ago. It got a bit long because I have 0 self control and also because I wanted to make sure neither Marthe nor Philippa were overlooked for the sake of the guys' feelings. I know others have written fic about this and I apologise if there's any crossover: I've been holding off reading the archives here until I finished and I am so excited to go and do so now!
