Fics like Desiderium

Once upon a time, Thorin Oakenshield died in glorious battle, and his nephews too were felled, and a great and terrible war was fought for the fate of the most powerful object in Middle Earth. But now, there is a glimmer of hope for a better future—because Fíli and Kíli are driven out of place and out of time, far from their uncle and their Company and their Quest, and the future is laid bare to them. They travel, for a time, with a strange Fellowship that tells them how to change their future, so that these horrors may never be wrought at all. (They just have to hope that this foreknowledge will be enough.)
