Fics like Retake

"Number one," Steve said, "don't ask me personal questions. Okay?" "Are you kidding me?" Bucky laughed in disbelief. "We’re going to spend days locked in the same car and I can’t ask you questions?" Bucky Barnes is used to the cold nights and fleeting encounters of hustling on the streets of L.A. So when a mysterious, polite man named Steve Rogers offers him an absurd amount of money to go on a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Bucky figures it's just a lucky break. The catch? A strict set of rules, an old Polaroid camera, and a name that isn't his. That’s how Bucky finds himself trapped in a car with the most beautiful and silent man he has ever seen, and soon he realizes this isn't just another job. Steve is a man full of pain and secrets, desperately trying to recreate a road trip from his past. And as the miles roll by, Bucky finds himself bringing comfort to a man obsessed with old Polaroid pictures of a boy who looks exactly like Bucky himself, and whom Steve keeps calling "T.J."
