Fics like the curious case of the mysteriously missing birthday

Which leaves John here: looking for an excuse to do something nice, to do something special, something that will lift their spirits, and realising suddenly that he and Sherlock have lived together for nearly a year and they’ve never celebrated Sherlock’s birthday. John doesn’t even know when it is. * John Watson doesn’t know a lot of things, but he’s not about to let that stop him from doing what was important. And in this case, what’s important is celebrating Sherlock’s birthday--whether it’s the right day or not.
