Fics like Deserter

“Dovah Invicta!” Bellowed the orc standard bearer, spittle ejecting from between scarred tusks and broken teeth from a lifetime of fighting. With a single powerful movement he slammed the reinforced base of the banner into the ground with an audible crack. “DOVAH INVICTA!” The Legion’s battle cry tore itself from the throat of every legionary of every cohort including my own with a deafening wave of sound that was felt more than heard. Swords were thrust into the sky and the roar shook loose streams of ash from the walls of Kvatch as the men and mer of the 2nd Legion went to war. ---------- Legionary. Deserter. Prisoner. Trapped and awaiting execution, Kaius Desin's road had seemingly reached an end, left to rot in the depths of the Imperial Prison until his judgement arrived. Whether it be luck, chance or fate is uncertain, but finding himself in the center of a conspiracy to bring about the apocalypse, infected with vampirism and partnered with a dangerous, murderous dark elf is one way to get a second chance. Story Completed - Feb 2018 I am cross-posting all of my works onto Royalroad, Wattpad and FFnet for anyone interested.
