Fics like How it came to all this mess

When Blade accepts a new trainee into his life, he's prepared for a lot, but not for what is going to come. How Mayday could possibly talk so high of someone with such little talent or even interest, he doesn't understand. And on top of that, Cad is out to make his life horrible. And just when he thinks it couldn't get any worse, feelings are starting to form. Feelings that he neither knows how to deal with nor wants to have in the first place. And that's not even the worst to come. Or: This technically is the movie written out of Blade's perspective with his thoughts and feelings and a few scenes from inbetween.
