In medieval Ireland, an angel falls in love with a human soul -- but when the angel asks to be sent to Earth as a human he is imprisoned by Heaven instead. Centuries later, banished from the Host and stripped of much of his grace, he walks the world with a single hope: to once again find the soul that he loves. In present day, Castiel meets Dean Winchester and immediately knows that this is the soul he's spent centuries searching for -- except Dean isn't free to be his, and doesn't seem to recognize him at all. Dean feels a distinct pull towards Castiel when they first meet, but doesn't understand it. Unable to resist his curiosity, he and Cas get closer and closer -- but when tragedy strikes, Castiel makes a choice that will likely divide him from his soulmate forever.
