Fics like An Heir And In The Same Breath Regret

(AU backstory for one character, warnings at the beginning of every chapter) One day, Kevin Ryan goes for lunch. Nobody knows where he's gone or why, but when he returns, something is different. Something's happened. And nobody, not his friends, not his partner, not even his wife knows what's going on with him. Then a murder comes across their desks, and suddenly the entire team is thrown into a life they hadn't known belonged to one of their own, a past best left in the past is pulled into the present, and things he would rather not bring to light are laid bare for all to see. Nothing is the way it seems.
