Fics like Memories and Distractions

Set after page 511 and before CoHF, a few weeks after the subway station. Alec has felt only two things since that day: an overwhelming, all-consuming pain that leaves him breathless and unable to function, and completely numb. The two states are in constant flux and there is no in between. He needs to feel something, anything, else. He needs a distraction. Jem is struggling to find his place in the Shadowworld again - no longer a Silent Brother, but not much of a shadowhunter either. Almost everyone he knew is dead. He just wants something that feels familiar after all this time. He needs a memory.
